I've been looking at some PSU's for a new system I'm going to build, and I need a 850W+ PSU to support a dual GF8800gtx setup in the future, now I have to choose between two PSU's:
I don't like the idea of the fan beeing placed below the PSU, because it will blow the hot air ontop of my CPU. Also, i'm thinking of buying the Stacker 810, where the PSU is placed on the bottom of the case.
I imagine this will possibly result in a catastrophic event
Should I save €100 on a PSU that has the fan placed below the PSU or get the Tagan one instead?
I'm also going to overclock my proc with aircooling.
The fan at the bottom does NOT blow into the case, it pulls air into the psu then the fan at the back (if there is one) pushes the hot air out the back. If there is only one fan and it's at the bottom it will still pull air into the psu and exit out the back.
Those psu's in the pics are upside down i think. but normally a psu's fan on the bottom sucks the air out of the case through the psu and out the back of the psu.
Fans on the underside of the psu pretty much always draw air into the psu & dont blow into the case. The fan in this position draws the heat out faster & then blows it out the back of the psu as always.
Don't know why everyone think PSU fans are intake... you have a computer right, you're posting here... feel the back of you're psu, do you feel air coming in or blowing out? If you still can't tell, put a piece of paper there... that'll answer your question...
Get the Tagan, Coolermaster's PSU's don't come close... as reflected in both reviews and price...
But OCZ has a nice 850W GameXStream coming out also...

I've been looking around for some reviews about the CM RP 850W, there doesn't seem to be that many yet, but I've found this german review, (click in the menu to translate to engrish) it doesn't seem to be that bad of a PSU, I think I'll take this one as it saves me some cash.
Granted, I too think the Tagan would be better, but the CM should be good enough I think.
