That 8800GTX itself sucks 150W, the rest of your system probably won't use more than another 150W, so that's 300W right there, unless you go OC'ing or peltier but thats a different issue...
Well... lemme check the liberty specs... hmmmm actually the specs don't seem too bad, and it has a couple of decent reviews, 2 12V rails rated at 20A each allowing for a total of 360W on the 12V line (No math here, just looked at specs, I know 12V *20A * 2 is more than 360W)... should be enough actually. Doesn't leave you with much headroom, but it will run the system fairly stable...
If you have the money, go for a better PSU, 450W at least. If this is the PSU you have currently, then no need to change, but if you're looking at buying a new one, then there are many choices out there that will suit you better. A higher rating means the PSU will be strained less meaning longer life. Also, better PSU's = better efficency = money saved.
Because when you brag about your rig, you don't go, I have a 300 dollar PC P&C 1kW PSU... you go, I have an 8800GTX that can't run games because there's no power...
so which psu would you recommand for me for this system+raid0+880gtx. maybe LIBERTY 500W?
I think something about 100$ would be acceptable.
*I'm not planing OC
And yet a another topic of someone spending $650 + dollars on a GPU and trying to just get by with a so so psu Why oh why do so many people do this?!
because we want to play DX10 GAMES! just to let you know I'm not going to buy it in the next days, I don't have the money yet but I just planned to do so.
I hope that the prices would be much cheaper in the next few months
One hell of a good price IMO.
I ended up getting the Corsair 620 for my rig, no availability of the M12 at my place back home, so I figured that the Corsair would look good thru that window of the Tj09 =)
Otherwise a ToughPower 550 for the same price, I think you would be fine with either one and both are quality parts!
I think the extra 20$ over your budget would be well worth it. Skimping on the PSU is not a good idea. If you get the bare minimum you will have to upgrade it as soon as you change something, ends up being more expensive.

Everyone here has given you their opinion on what you should get, whether you take that advice or not is completely up to you. I completely agree with them in that a good quality psu is imperative, something with 20-25% more power then you need for upgrade room. If you can't afford that then I've got a lawnmower engine here that would be perfect for your porsche.
thanks about the links. anyway corsair 520w seems to much for me
I assume you mean too much money. Do not underestimate the value of a good PSU. As noted above and in other PSU reviews on Xbitlabs you should look to have 20-30% more power in the PSU then you plan to use. The PSU is usually not stressed then and tend to preform well and not run load (Fan is not on full blast).
Do not mean to scare you but I had a PSU that was not up to the load I gave it and did not realize it until one day my OS was gone as the drives were not powered enough at shutdown time and I lost data on 2 drives. Could have been worse as I could have fired my drives and other components all because I did not spend $$ to upgrade the PSU after I got a better vid card. I got lucky but once the power is not enough the system will be unstable and you may lose valuable data and hardware. I would spend the extra $$ on the PSU and reduce the $$ on the Vid card.
Is it overkill? probably. But guess what? I do not have to worry about instability or losing expensive pc components because I have a crappy PSU. Chances are I will also not have to buy a new PSU for a very long time as I dont plan to do crossfire or sli within the next 4 yrs or so. Best of all this leaves me tons of headroom for Overclocking which BTW I love to do 8) And later down the road when I go quad core no troubles then either.
thanks about the links. anyway corsair 520w seems to much for me
I meant about the watt, not the money.
I think you convinced me
PSU really important, but I don't wanna spend too much money on it. I allmost sure that 100$ is really enough and even that too much then I expected. I'm not going to do a SLI for sure.
Corsair 520W costs 120$ and liberty 500w costs 105$ and liberty 400w costs only 75$ (in my country it costs much more expensive but leave it).
It seems like Liberty 400W is really enough in that case and good reward.
I don't need anymore things more then my system+raid0+880gtx.
GOD! I just discovered that my motherboard doesn't support RAID! so liberty 400W is enough for sure
Well that will be a problem if you intended to use RAID.
Another thing I just noticed the video card you chose is a POS. If you plan to play any games this thing will just not do it. If you are not a gamer then go with this mother board instead. Close to the same board but with integrated graphics. You lose the three PCIeX1 slots and the PCIex16 slot is only at x4 speed, but not a big deal if you do not play games. Also the form factor is Mirco ATX not sure you care. Price is a big $25 drop as well. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128322
If you want full PCIe x16 support this one does that, but has fewer PCI slots. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128016 This one is not really much of a savings and I asume the price difference is the full PCIe x16 support.
If RAID is important then you might look at this board as it has RAID 0/1 support. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128017 This board overclocks really well too. You will need to keep your Graphics card as this motherboard has no on board Graphics. It does cost more though. You can find it on other sites for less as it should go about $5-$10 less then Newegg has it.
I just pointed out the links to show what the price difference was. Also if he goes integrated chipset then the 400w psu would be enough. Mine is only a 420 (450 peak) and I run 4 harddrives, 6600GT (AGP), and my mainboard without a problem.
I had problems when I used a 350w PSU.
Given the desire to go to or add in 8800 GTX then 400w is not enough. This card draws close to 200+ watts all alone. You need to look at 600+ if I were you.

but watts doesn't really mean something. the important thing is the 12v power as I understand.
They both mean some thing. The amps on the 12volt rail need to be high. The 8800 GTX requires 30 amps min (which means that with a normal board plus drives and this card you should have 30 amps. Note that you also have the extra 7300 card are you planning to keep it or toss it? If you keep it you need to account for the amps it pulls as well. The other recommendation is 400w minimum. You also need to connect two PCIe power connectors (6pins) so you should opt for a SLI certified PSU.
The reviewer at Xbitlabs recommends that you have 25-30% more power then you need. It will run the fan slower but it will also not stress the PSU as much.
I would look at the Enermax 485 Noisetaker II (has 32A on 12v and 485 watts total. Is SLI certified (I know you are not going SLI but this card is like you did). It only gives you 2amps clearance but it is not bad. $89.99 in USA.
You can try the coolmax CTI 500W as well. $80.00 in US. It too is SLI certified. Not sure what the total amps are on the 12V as it is marked split with no total information. 18A and 16A could = 34A or not.
Last I have to recommend this guy very much Silverstone SST - ST50EF Combined 12V is 35A (Peak 38A) total watts is 500w. $100.00 US. If you can find this one in your country then take it. Silverstone makes good PSUs.
