SUP, i like your cable management...very clean. and are those two 8800GTXs? man, list ur specs please.

l8er :)

Nice... I'll have to put my rig up once I'm done with it. It's a dual-xeon machine, but hey, with valve's multi-threaded engine coming out I might just be able to make use of that 4GB of RAM and 8800GTX watercooled!

Very nice........except..........you have Raptor-X and a Lian-Li case....with no window I assume? Such a waste....... :(  A window and some tasteful lighting would be icing on the cake.
December 4, 2006 11:11:40 PM

:D  SWEET :D  *Envy* Care to publish a theis on cable management? 8)

Darn you uber_g.... I thought that was your rig and that you were going to be the first person to dethrone Ninja from having the best computer on the THGFZ...Now all hope is lost.
December 4, 2006 11:27:39 PM

Stock cooling? I think you got ripped off.
December 4, 2006 11:29:45 PM

There is no such thing as hope when it comes to that.

And on another note, that better be a 680i or else...
December 5, 2006 12:21:55 AM

Probably a dumb question, but how much $$ do you all think it would take to build something like that?
December 5, 2006 12:33:28 AM

who uses stock intel cooling on a rig like that?
December 5, 2006 2:21:36 AM

A noob. A rich noob. LMAO.
December 5, 2006 12:56:19 PM

Conroes run pretty cool anyways, there not like Netburst

remember the AMD stock heatsink, even high end machines still used them
December 5, 2006 1:13:19 PM

You can hit 3.0Ghz and up with the stock heatsink.
December 5, 2006 1:13:44 PM

I know...........but it just seems so............wrong.

Like putting Michelin tires on a Ferrari.....the Michelin's work but that's not the point, because so does a Chevy. If it's a Ferrari, it's been bought and paid for a reason......so then the best tires are used.

Same thing here. But whatever. I think most of us would overlook the HSF and give our left N*T for that rig ;)

I cana' see it captain! Imageshack just don't have tha powah!
I'm getting a Image removed... :(

But anywhos... sounds nice. But dual 8800GTXs sounds like overkill... boy is it hard twiddling my thumbs waiting for second gen dx10 nVidia cards(might just have to buy a Asus Striker 680i to hold me over 'till May '07 or so). Credit card is burning a hole in my pocket... ACK!
December 5, 2006 1:51:37 PM

Post the image on Photobucket please.

EDIT* Nevermind, just read that that wasn't the OP's rig...

December 6, 2006 4:12:13 AM

Was the first one a Falcon NW PC? It had the wiring of a Falcon...
December 6, 2006 4:29:22 AM

I was thinking the same thing (about getting the Asus Striker Extreme), but then I read a review of it on the [H]. Apparently there is an issue with the board (perhaps in the BIOS), but overclocking on this board was very unimpressive, according to the reviewers.Link to review:

Now I will have to find an alternative.
December 6, 2006 1:25:04 PM

I was thinking either the Striker which has now been dumped due to the shoddy review (although they do admit it has promise, through bios updates) or the BFGtech 680i which has exceptional overclocking and is cheaper than the Asus.

Thats for pimps. Real men worry about the horsepower, not what light is hitting it.
December 6, 2006 2:58:12 PM

go with the EVGA 680

:D
December 6, 2006 3:13:00 PM

I'll stick with 975X and 965P.
December 6, 2006 3:54:13 PM

Damn, that's a very nice rig. Dual 8800 GTX's, Asus Striker, X-fi, Raptor X. I agree with some other people though, it seems wrong to have a system like that with a stock heatsink.

LOL, I understand what you're saying. I'm a designer in real life and so I also care about aesthetics......I certainly won't compromise function for forum, which is why I'm tempted to get a Lian-Li.....but they just seem sooooo overpriced.

As far as horsepower goes, I am reminded of a famous quote:

"Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines."

And who said it? Enzo Ferrari. A company that is the epitome of horsepower and sexiness. Saying that it doesn't matter....LOL...my how times have changed.

In any event, I'm actually worried if I got a "budget" Lian-Li like a PC-7 PLUS that my fan controller, etc would make it look like crap. An in order to make it look GOOD, I'd be looking at spending even more money.......when I could just grab a nice Thermaltake case and put the money into a better vid card instead ;)
December 6, 2006 4:05:59 PM

that is sweet. i will be spending time cleaning mine new build up
