I would like to convert video that I have on an old analog camcorder. I saw a direct to dvd burner from SONY for 250USD, but thats a little pricey.

As far as I know all that I need is a PVR or TV tuner card with analog inputs, as well as some software. I recognize Hauppagge as a good company I once bought a tv tuner from them but returned it.
I bought the Deluxe Version of Sonic MyDVD which seems to be able to do that job. I might need a dvd burner, as my dell supplied one seems to be getting glitchy.

Can you recommend:
a. a method for converting analog camcorder video to edit, or a dvd
b. a good pci or pci ex x1 card with analog video inputs (yellow and white, audio and video i think its called component)
c. software for taking that video off of the device and editing/ burning to dvd
d. a good dvd burner (or a good place to get a nec 3550a)

about dvd burners... is the pioneer 16x 5xram at newegg good?
samsung 18x?, liteon, NEC 18x's

also, i just finished the movie identity, if you havent watched it yet, do so

Look at Pinnacle Studio 10. I got the USB version a couple weeks ago to put our analog cam stuff and put old VHS movies onto DVD.
