I am building a system right now with qx6700 and bad axe 2 MB, 850W psu, 2 g corsair dominator c4d 6400. I will probably wait until 3Q to purchase the R600 (no point in buying early=high price, no dx10, early drivers).
So, as I'm sure I'm in the same boat as everyone else, what's a pretty decent ati chipset card right now for about $100-160. I just want a 256 bit card that will give me nice frame rates in the most popular games.
If you plan on overclocking I wouldn't suggest getting 2 g corsair dominator c4d 6400. I just bought myself some and found out that they arent using the Micron D9's and that they are using Promos which are horrible for overclocking. I returned them and now I have the Dominator pc-8500's (The cheapest in Corsairs line of Dominators that actually uses highly binned Micron D9's.)
If you want to be able to overclock and still have the Dominator and get the Micron D9 ic's you will have to pay more and get the Dominator pc-8500c5d.
If you cannot afford them then I suggest you get these, they are made my crucial which is owned by Micron and they use the Mircon D'9.
And they look really cool with the leds on top that monitor cpu and memory usage and the leds on the bottom that glow a mystic blue around the base of the memory.
