My local PC shop allowed me to bring my system in and test different RAM sticks to see if I could get the thing to boot. No luck, the best match they had was Kingstown Value RAM DDR2 PC 4200 2x 256. Gigabyte’s qualified vendor list has this listed, well almost the last 2 digits of the part numbers didn’t match. Today I ordered the exact match of Kingston from the list. If this does not work, I don’t know what I’m going to do next. I can’t just keep spending money on ram that doesn’t work. My time is running out and my wallet is on empty. Please, If your DQ6 boots I would like to know what you have/had for memory at you're first boot.

My DQ6 has booted with SuperTalent, GEIL and OCZ ram. If you have ram that won't boot, try booting with one stick installed, then raise the RAM voltage in the BIOS +0.2v, shutdown and add the other stick.

My DQ6 with the F2 BIOS booted right away with Corsair XMS2 PC2-6400C4. Unfortunately there was a problem with the graphics slot (system would only boot with me pushing down on the gfx card) and I had to send it back. The replacement worked fine. If you can't get your DQ6 to boot with any memory, it may simply be defective.

The manual lists continuous short beeps as a power error, continuous long beeps as a DRAM error. Could this be a power problem?

yup most likely is the board itself. sorry to hear you have had problems with it, mine has worked flawless since day one with A-DATA memory.

Out of curiosity, did anyone try to boot with no memory installed. If so what type of error did you get? any POST? I would like to know what steps you used for troubleshooting.
