What type of old CPU do you have?
I'm willing to bet it's a power issue, as the P4 D series can consume alot of power.
SO, post your complete PC spec, and you'll get an answer more quickly. Also, note the beep sequence, and post that aswell... no, don't post beep, beeeeeeep, beep, beeeeeeeeeeeep. Post long vs short
