Leave fans on max, or auto?

Just curious what the best option is here. Currently have them on full all the time. Temps were a touch higher when on auto. Only a degree or two though.

SpeedFan shows a flashing warning (exclmation point) on the cpu fan with it running at max. Temps are ok.

Suggestions?

I have mine on auto, but I leave my machines on all the time. I don't need them howling away while they're idle.
