Personal Certificate - Wireless Networking

I'm having problem connecting to a wireless network

platform: ASUS a716 Windows Mobile 2003 (not SE)

issue: connects to the network with correct "SSID" and shows "Status =
Connected"
however network requires "personal certficate" for authontication and shows
the "yellow locked icon" on the wireless icon on taskbar
in addition, Internet Explorer cannot connect to any page ("page you are
looking for cannot be found" )

any suggestions?
