Hello,

I am tasked to setting a static IP to one computer on the Watchguard SOHO 6. I am not really sure how to go about this. I went into the options on the router through a browser and clicked on Routes. I added one and it asked if I wanted it to be a HOST or a NETWORK. It then asked for a Gateway IP (i am assuming this is the router's IP) and then an IP address...what goes here?

I am hoping that I am doing this correctly. Any helpw ould be great.

Thanks,

Dan

You need to set the static ip address on the computer, not the router.
The address used should be outside the range of addresses usable by the DHCP in the router.

If they are running windows XP:
right click on my network places and click properties
right click on the network card and click properties
select Internet protocol TCP/IP and click properties
there you can select specify IP and enter the static IP you want
