Is this 7900gs good for $149?

You'll be charged tax at best buy. I bought one of those it came to $160.50 after sales tax. But anyway, online prices are dropping. I'd pay $10 to go evga over PNY. Also, there is an XFX 7900GS for under $150 shipped AR on newegg.

A 7900gs from EVGA would be a better buy considering you have a life time warranty with it,as well as a step-up program where you can upgrade to a better card within the first 90 days. All you pay is the difference in price and shipping.Goodluck.

The 7900GS is a great card for the price. Also research the manufacture as that does make a difference. Dahak is correct that EVGA does have a lifetime warranty and a step up program valid for the first 90 days. XFX cards have a double-lifetime warranty (US and Canada only), where the original owner has a lifetime warranty and whoever they sell the video card to or give it away to also will be covered under the lifetime warranty.

Ditto what everyone else said. I have the PNY ($130 a few weeks ago).
But for the $10, I'd have gone with XFX or EVGA for

1) the warranty. PNY's is three years. Graphics change so much in 3 years that this is hardly a problem, but I have... for example.. a 9600pro in a system right now so it could be important to someone.

2) the overclockability. Look on the web at stats, and most have a *slightly* better overclock than the PNY.

3) the size/formfactor. The PNY is not based on the Nvidia sample. It is physically larger with a slightly different layout. So if you plan to voltmod or some other hack, you would not be able to follow the volt mod for the other cards.
