i am sure this option is somewhere but i've yet to find it.

is there a way regardless of the forum category to see the days new posts either its a new topic or a topic thats got new posts in it?

or even better see all the new posts by threads since your last visit.

many websites have this the first one coming to mind is www.dvdrhelp.com

i can log in there every week and see whats been posted new since my last login or check whats new for the day or last 24 hours, etc.

It does this automatically on a per category basis using the envelope icons on the left-hand side in the individual category listings. The volume of new posts here on Tom's is just so huge, it'd be like drinking from a fire hose to show you *all* the posts that have been updated since the last visit.
