I have using Asus Motherboard P4S8X-X with Intel cpu 2.53G/FSB 533Mhz. When replacing with cpu 2.80G/FSB 800Mhz HT, but it display max 1.87G only. The freq multiple fix at 14 (can not change) and the External freq can set to 133/33 only (can set higher but can not boot). 14x133 = 1.87Ghz.
I have installed 2 pcs of 512 DDR RAM pc2700.

May I know how to get 2.8Ghz speed with this 2.8Ghz cpu ?

Thanking you in advance.

Are you sure that Motherboard will support that CPU?

Sounds like a mother board issue.Go to the asus website and check on cpu support. You may have to buy a new MB.Goodluck.

According to the ASUS website, your motherboard supports up to a 3.4GHz P4. It also states, that the motherboard will be in an overclocked state at 200MHz FSB. Therefore, try clearCMOS jumper, then enter BIOS, and reset your settings. The AI Overclock Tuner should be set to "manual". That will give a list of FSB's from 100-200MHz. Set it to 200MHz. Disable "Spread Spectrum". Try setting AGP/PCI to 66.6/33.3. Set DRAM Frequency to "333"MHz, as your RAM isn't likely to run @ 200MHz. GL :)
