I'm having trouble downloading a game from a website. I've tried several different browsers, different computers, even other people have tried to download it, but everyone receives the same error. Seems like there's a problem on their side.
When it attempts to connect, it says "There was an error downloading the game. Click here for more information." and clicking brings up a new page that says "Security check failed." Not sure what that means, but since it's happening on multiple browsers and PCs regardless of the installed software it certainly sounds like a problem on there end or a browser issue.
I contacted tech support and they insist on having copies of dxdiag.txt and MSinfo.txt. dxdiag I don't have a problem with, but I believe msinfo gives away a lot of sensitive information, like a list of every installed program and every piece of hardware including printers, USB devices, and hard drive sizes. I think that's a big jump, they went from the standard "do you have antivirus or firewall" straight to "give me a list of everything you have installed.
Has anyone else been asked to supply information they believed was sensitive to technical support? If so, how did you handle it? Does anyone think I'm being silly and should just give them MSinfo.txt?
FYI to see what MSinfo would provide them, go to START->RUN and type msinfo32
