Hi, when I play Call of Duty 2, when I connect to servers, most of the time I ping very high to servers. I'm located in Ohio. I pinged a server to Chicago and when I did a tracert, I'm finding out that the routing is showing that I'm going to NYC and bouncing back to CHI.

Now, is there anything I could do to fix this? On the 6th hop, it's contacting ATnT, could I even contact them if necessary? I just don't like paying for a ping that's crap.

There's nothing you can do about the route a packet takes. That is all up to routers outside your control. It does appear that you slow down though after leaving your house. You could call your ISP to look into it for you.

Everything slows down after leaving your house anyway......do you get high ping on other servers/games?? also what kind of connection do you have?? I too live in ohio and get no problems hardly ever.
