I have a 7950GT 256MB. In some games, charactes/object are missing polygons (they are see through). Also, when there is a large field of view, flat polygons that kind of look like ramps appear randomly throughout the maps. If I turn on AA, the ramps go away, but the missing textures get worse.

What could be the problem? I'm using Win2k Pro with all the latest drivers 93.71. Only the CPU (pentiumD 805) is overclocked, but everything is cool. The CPU is <50*C, the GPU<50*C, and case temp <30*C all under load.

The games I play that have problems are TrackMania Sunrise Extreme, UT 2004, and Battlefiled 2 and 2142.

Quake 3 and 4 have no problems at all.

I have played all these games on all settings, but I usually play at all settings maxed, except AA is turned off and AF is at 4x.

Did you have these problems as soon as you installed the video card or did it just start to happen? Was the previous video card drivers uninstalled (if this card is a new install)? Your temps look great for the video card so it does not appear to be an overheating issue. Try rolling back a driver version and see if that helps (www.nvidia.com driver archive). Also list your system specs.

When I set up the computer, I used a spare 7600GT. But I switched to the 7950GT before I installed anything other than the OS, updates, and drivers. I just updated to beta 93.81 nvidia driver. This fixed the "ramp" problem. They no longer appear even without AA, But I'm still getting missing textures and almost invisible characters in UT2004.

Here are my system specs (that matter)
MB: Asus P5-WD2 Premium, latest bios
Video: Leadtech 7950GT 256MB stock speed
Ram: 1GB DDR2 stock speed (pc3200)
CPU: PentiumD 805 @ 3.6GHZ
OS: Win2k sp4 with all updates.
DX: 9c latest version
PS: HiPro 500W

The computer is completely stable. CPU and GPU are <55*C under full load.

Is the only game you have an issue with now Quake 4? I cant speak for Quake 4, but in previous version of Quake you were able to download skins for you characters to make them almost invisible (not sure if that’s what you mean). If you installed the video driver for the 7600GT before switching to the 7950GT it might be a good idea to run driver cleaner and remove the video driver (just the video driver) and reinstall the latest Nvidia driver.
