Hello,

My situation is this. I have a Athlon 64 Venice series CPU. I have 2 dvd burners ide. I have 3 IDE Drive and 1 Sata Drive. I also have 7 USB drives 4 on a USB card and 3 on the onboard USB on the motherboard. Video card is a 6100 LE PCIE. My questions i my cpu fan is making funny noises and I am getting random issues. I think it might be the way I have things plugged in power wise from the power supply. Could it be possible you have to plug in the molex connectors in a certain order in order to maximize your power consumption. I have a dual rail power supply 500 watt. Do I need more? Quad Rail?

Which brand? the number of rail is irrelevant as it's the power it can deliver that really matter!

If you have a generic PSU that can be what's causing problems. Generic PSU's most likely don't deliver their rated voltage nor do they do it stably, while name-brand PSU's will deliver past their rated voltage without a problem.
