H3955 reload software / wifi & expansion card problem

I have a IPAQ hp 3955
Rom revision 3.00.08 ENG
OS Windows CE 4.20
I purchased and installed the Pocket PC 2003 upgrade last year.

I have bought this from a neighbor after it was @ 3 month old.
It's always worked great.

I just bought a used HP 173396-001 (3600 series PC card
expansion pack) that I want to use with my Linksys wpc11 wireless
WI FI card.

1. The expansion pack does not recognize the card ( I did get it to
see my laptops modem PCMCIA card but it didn't know what the card was)

I downloaded the Linksys wince driver for the WPC11 card and tired to
install it to the IPAQ but at the end of the setup it I get..

"Application manager can not install application on the mobile device
due to an invalid setup file. Reinstall and try again"

Someone told me to hard rest and redownload all the programs to the
IPAQ. IF I do this will I lose the firm ware upgrade and will this
solve my problem.

I also have a directory (folder) in my Game folder that titled Icons.
when I try to open it I get this error. "ceshell.dll,-162 Cannot find
one of the components, Make sure path is right.......
