Am replacing my defective Sapphire x1950 Pro and am considering another branded x1950 Pro or a BFG GeForce 7950GT....
they are somewhat similar in cost, but is one better than the other for games like GRAW, NWN2, Titan Quest?
I am running on a 20" LCD w/ 1600x1200 res.

Thanks for your input?

That's an easy one. The 7950GT gets whopped by the whole X1950 family, including its slowest representative, the X1950Pro. :D

Hmmm... I'm going to have to disagree with the doctor on this one. :)

the X1950 PRO is usually recommended above the 7950 GT because the 7950 GT can cost up to $100 more.

As far as raw performance, it's pretty close, with the 7950 GT winning at least half the time... if price is identical, it's a tough choice but the 7950 GT looks good, maybe even a little better.

I agree with you Cleeve. X1950XT for sure over 7950GT for the same price, and X1950 pro over 7950GT at the normal $50+ price difference. But priced the same the 7950GT seems the better bargain compared to the pro. But beofre buying I'd look to see what the X1900GT and X1950XT sell for as that will show if the 7950GT is a bargain price or the X1950 pro is way overpriced.

Yep, like Paul said. The X1950 XT will smoke the 7950 GT.

I bow to the almightly Cleeve: the 7950GT is faster than the X1950Pro. :(  What I should have said is that the X19xx family whoops the 79xx family price/performance-wise, not in absolute performance. Though you might find individual exceptions.

Heheh, no need to bow, Dr. Asik.

I was just clarifying is all. :)
