well i havent worked on a mac in 2 years and now i have a guy that needs osx installed on his older macbook [2008 i believe] the old hard drive died so i put another in it but i dont have an OSX disk so i had to download the files to make them. i have .dmg files for snow leopard, lion and mountain lion and i cant get it to boot any disk i make. i have tried to burn the disk/usb using windows [unfortunately]. i have tried poweriso and ultraiso, i have burned as a .dmg and i have burned it as a .iso, i have tried to make a bootable usb in both. i have tried and tried with snow leopard and lion, havent started mountain lion but chances are looking bleak. its not detecting anything i put into it. for cds i have tried booting while holding C and for both usb and cd i have tried booting by holding down option. i have also tried universal usb installer

im getting nowhere, i need help
