I left for a 2 year period and didn't use my computer. I stored the hard drives safely but when I got back the computer doesn't recognize that the old hard drives have data on them. The computer just recognizes the hard drives as unformatted data. The hard drives don't make any funny sounds or anything; I’m guessing the magnetic data has gotten flat during the 2 years. Any suggestions that I could some how salvage it?

I have no idea how is it possible that magnetic can go flat after certain times.

But anyway, i suggested to someone a third party software called GetDataBack, it exist for NTFS or FAT32, and apparently it works well to recovering datas, so you can give a shot if you want. Good luck with your HDD.
