PC Plumbing questions

Quite frankly you should have come on and asked before you bought the symphony. Thermaltake products typically use 1/4" or 3/8" tubing, have a really crappy pump (which I don't think is good enough for the cpu and two video cards) and that tower monstrosity is huge.

What you need to do if you want to use it is to add another radiator between the cpu and video card, this will add restriction to the flow and while I don't think the pump could handle what you've already got, if you add another rad I think it will just roll over and die. So, you'll have to replace the pump for a better one. The swiftech MCP665 has a flow rate of 1200L/H compared to the thermaltake which only has 90L/H. The best known cpu water block right now is the Swiftech Storm... I prefer 1/2" ID tubing....

Just return the symphony and get a custom kit please? If not you'll just end up replacing it sooner or later (sooner I think).

Quite frankly, I think high end air cooling in a good case would beat out the symphony in performance.

i was curious what is high end air cooling, cause i belive i have a pretty good air cooling solution but i do not know that for sure. and i want to compare what is considerd high end air cooling to my own solution.

High end air cooling is considered a Scythe Infinity, Thermalright HR-120, Tuniq Tower, Zalman CNPS-9700 etc...not only do you have to have a good CPU cooler to be considered high end, it must be placed in a well wired and well ventilated case (i.e. at least 120mm intake, and PSU + 120mm exhaust, usually more.)

well i noticed your stats include the same proc as me, except i have the zalman cnp9500, however i have the system air cooled sitting at 4.0 GHZ 200mhz external clock and sits idel at 33 degrees celcius

i have a antech 900 case with all fans on high and the two optional 120 mm fans installed and i have a toughpower thermal take 650 watt with a 14 cm fan

Ok then why are you going from high end air cooling to low end water cooling? Especially on what sounds like a $3000+ computer. I would go look at either a swiftech or DD kit. You can get everything you need from DD except maybe the rad and cpu block as better ones are out there.

i just caught this thread in the new threads and saw what you wrote and ask you a question that someone else answered, its ok though, since i was the only one who replyed you prolly assumed i made this thread, i would not go water cooled with my system as it may only afford me a 100 or 200 mhz increase. not worth the dallor to mhz value, if i am going to water cool ill sell my p5n32sli se deluxe and pentium D805 and get a decent C2D setup prolly on a 680i mobo.

That is definitely high end air cooling   You have mega airflow and a better heatsink wouldnt help too much.

I have my D805 on water (MCP655 - Dual 120mm Rad - Swiftech Apogee - 1/2" ID) and I idle at 19C and load at 26C   When my roomate goes home (I take classes and work during January Term) and his bitching about the cold of the room stops, I will open the windows to the Minnesota winter and with my antifreeze/water mix I hope to cool below 0 C on chilled water   My crappy memory is holding back my overclock but I can post at 4.4 GHz, but any actions in windows causes a crash. The reason I hold at 3.8 is because I can run 1.500 volts with 100% stability and my PWM doesnt have great airflow and gets a little toasty. I hope to solve that problem with my Custom Cherry wood case build you can read about in the Power Supplies & Cases section.
