Well guys I've been on the troll trying to start a semi-intelligent flame war with the fanboys upstairs. But I'm sad to report I have failed miserably.

Can you guys bash me a little so I can get that warm fuzzy feeling back.
The key here is subtlety
People have to believe you're actually serious before they'll bite
Looks like fun.
I got Abuse Reports on that thread.... I saw you were pushing on them up there.... I left it alone....
They're so thin skinned up there.... They want their hand held & backed up..... No one seems to be able to stand up for themselves.... It's only gotten worse with the new forum....
Having said that, there's no sense in pushing on dead wood & causing us problems dealing with it....
WTF? Bunch of lightweights. I have to agree with RC though that you'd be best to just leave them to rot. Rarely have I seen a trolling up there result in anything more than bitching from a bunch of retards.
I think a lot of it is to do with the mental ability of the posters in a section. We have an occasional troll tastic post or two down the Linux hole but most of the folks there have enough about them to just join in the sport and not go crying to the mods.
Mods suck!
Death to the mods!
LOL

I think it's Dr Samuel Johnson you should be apologising to.
i ate a raisin.
At least you thought it was a rasin.....

Shouldn't you be used to Failure already?
Well RC I tried your baffle with bull* method to get a rise of angered flame posts!!!
Well being a failure is lonely!
Even negative attention is better than no attention!!!
Failure is just a chance to develop a better sense of humour. [/Trust me I know!]
Failure is in the eye of the beholder.
Or the bank manager
Failure of the wallet is overshadowed by victory of the heart.
Are you taking the p!ss???
No, Pike just clearly takes drugs.

I liked the questions you threw out in the second link, it may take them sometime to realize they got spanked.
I was hoping to get a few questions thrown back at me in flaming anger of denial. I was bored and hoping for some elementary entertainment.
Well as you all know I have been extra bored lately.
I read this thread in the CPU forum and desperately wanted to start a flame war.
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] m-opinions
But then my damn conscience stepped in and prevented me from making an irritating flame war ignition post because I didn't want our Coors Master to have deal with the fall out.
The post I wanted to make is below.
It is 100% bull. It is not based on any facts posted anywhere on the Internet.
It is meant to inflame the thin skin of the cpu forum members for my own personal entertainment.
However my Pike values stepped in and stopped me from acting like a chumming devil.
Post synopsis:
The post starts out with an Intel dig, then slows down to disappoint members dreaming of early adoption, then comes up with a Microsoft slam, an overclocking dig and finishes off with an AMD dunk. It is pure flame bait poetry.
1) Nehalem will probably be a big and disappointing paper launch in late September, October 2008
2) Working processors will be available to OEM in November 2008.
3) The first available processors to OEM's will be server MP using the Xeon branding.
4) The first available processors to consumers will be an Extreme Edition in November 2008 using Core 3 branding. Retail price between $1500 to $1800. Quad core at 3.2GHz.
5) The first available processors to consumers will be in February 2009 with mass availablity by mid April 2009 with quad core architecture without HT enabled using Core 3 Quad branding. Retail price starting at $499 for a 2.8GHz processor.
6) Windows 7 will be late. No way will Microsoft be ready for a Q4 2009 release. Intel will hold back on Nehalem higher clocked processors and Nehalem HT enabled processors will be delayed until Microsoft releases Windows 7 which will probably have a launch date in early October 2010.
7) Nehalem will overclock poorly because of its new architecture.
8) Intel doesn't give a crap about AMD today. They did give a crap about the green machine in 2000 when the one GHz clock race was on. Intel doesn't care what AMD put's out in the future because AMD is the little engine that couldn't.
That should get a reaction!
It should actually get a +5 insightfull. [/Slashdot]
DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!!
I concur. Raise some hell!
Somehow I think it would really piss off RC to the point where I would rather deliver Wingding's Visa statement in person.
But there maybe a way around this.
An attractive baiting post in the CPU forum linking to a thread down here with the chum contents to initiate flaming posts where we could all participate in the carnal raping of cpu fanboys.
The logistics are difficult. I'm assuming the cpu fanboys have the intelligence to make their posts in the Other forum and to not post back their flames in the cpu forum. It's a sticky situation.
Do you REALLY want the CPU section down here. Hell I thought I was being nasty to people today but that is just plain pushing it.
Sorry RC.
It's been posted and tweaked to inflict maxium FUD.
Don't worry superchimp! I don't want the cpu twinkies here either.
The FUD is on Page 2.

Poor children have no hope...
I haven't checked out the thread since I added the post.
I'm waiting for the post count to go up so I can enjoy the reading.
If it the reactions go overboard, I guess I'll let them know it was FUD post just to tease them.
Everyone needs to check out this news article on TG Daily.
At the end of the article there is a section for comments about the story.
So far there are 65 comments and the majority of the comments are made by a person who calls themself "Enlighten"
This person makes a few good points. But this person is so zealously against Windows Vista I can't think of any adjectives in the English language to truthfully describe the dribble that comes from this person's mind. It is painfully apparent Enlighten has no clue about how a microprocessor works nor does this person have a clue to how the x86 instruction set architecture functions.
I've come to the conclusion that Enlighten is a TG staff member making ridiculous assumptions of how Windows functions to get as many hits to the TG Daily website to increase traffic based revenue. Or this person is a complete nut case.
The comments are at the end of the article and Enlighten begins their ranting tirade at the ninth comment "vista's lack of major success".
Here is the link to the TG Daily news report.
http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/36902/118/
Enlighten's comments are a long read. This person has easily posted 20 or more comments. It will take at least a half hour to go throught them all but it's worth the time to read.
When I posted the link I noticed the comment section of the article was missing. The comment section appears to be missing for all the TG Daily news articles. I'm assuming they're working on the website and hopefully the comment section will be back up soon.
The name of the article is: Windows at risk of "collapsing," say analysts
On a side note I hope Enlighten isn't one of the valued members of the Other forum. I can't see anyone of us posting that many comments.

Piss off! smack head!
Who asked you for your opinion, you enamel crunchin' ice-head?
If I wanted a noob's opinion then I'd ask one of those fan-boy wankas from upstairs what their nooblet-minded perspectives were.

Our Pikelet taking the p*ss? Never! lol

Our boy Pikelet?
You bet your arse he does. Saw him pull 4 buckets last weekend and then had the temerity to say to me -- fully cut, of course -- that:
"Pack me another, Bomby...and bring that serving wench over here!!!"
No serving wenches for me this weekend..
We've just had the gas, and broadband bills hit the doormat. I just want to kick my landlords head in, fcuking fair use broadband package with a MASSIVE 5Gb per month between four of us. 30Gb over means I've got to find £12 just for my share of the BB bill. For comparison my Bro pays £15 a month for unlimited access.
I'm starting to develop a Wingding like disdain of bills...
It it's his usage that sent you over the 5Gb then the f*cker should pay for it himself.

I'm so happy! I caught my master! The one who taught me all I know!
This is indeed a glorious day
** Passes Jef a cup of tea with no milk **
Sorry man but the bandwidth tax has resulted in a few cutbacks today...
@Llama - Yeah.. I'm not to sure how to play this one. I do use a lot of bandwidth myself and we have no way to break it down by the router ports or anything like that. He has offered to pay a bit more towards it as we were only £7 each last month and I'd fcuking hammered it with a couple of big downloads. The real issue is that the landlord won't sign up to a 12 month contract for unlimited access.
It's always the issue with shared housing. I got screwed when I was working full time and the 3 others were around the house all day but now I'm not working it kind of balances out in the grand scheme. £5 is not that high a price to pay for avoiding getting into house bitching sessions but that's more than I have to spend most days at the moment.
I've not had tea with milk, so I'm good. I'll find some sugar.
I was in the same situation. Sharing one Internet connection in a four apartment building. We didn't have a download cap so that wasn't the problem. Sharing the connection between four tenants was very economical.
The problem was one unit (tenant) had control over the modem and router. If all four tenants were using the Internet connection at the same time the download speed fell. The tenant who had control over the router would unplug the ethernet cable to a tenant using high bandwidth.
One month of that bull and I subscribed to mobile broadband. It's more expensive but I don't have to worry about people complaining there connection is disabled.
On a side note: The tenant who was pulling the plug never unpluged my connection but the other two tenants who were getting unplugged were always asking if my network connection was up. It was a war I just didn't want to get involved with.
The bandwidth monster in my house has just offered, without prompting, to chuck us all a couple of beers to take the edge off it. You can tell he's embarrassed at the situation, especially after I pointed out that one of the house mates was only here for 2 weeks of last month. He's a nice guy and whilst a little strange at times he's not one of those people who sets out to take the piss.
The trouble with getting a different package is that we would need to sign up for a 12 month contract. I might well have to move for the next job and the BM is possibly moving in the next few months to start his degree. The landlord does not want to commit to something the next tenants might not want or use. I'm wondering about mobile BB myself. You can get some quite good deals on the pre-pay front now but I need to be sure of Linux support before I do. Those USB dongles are great, but as with most things the chip sets do have a habit of changing on a batch by batch basis.
Today's joy - The electric bill. This means that the bills that have arrived this week have just eaten 110% of my dole income. Mind you those are the ones that cover winter so next quarter should be a little easier on the wallet.. I hope!! Either way I don't think I'll be out on the ale tonight... No, I'm out on the ale this afternoon for the bike trick contest down in town. And before you ask I have no intention of doing anything other than watching. Well... maybe the how blue can you turn whilst standing around watching in this fcuking NE wind contest but that is my limit!
My mobile broadband modem is ethernet and powered by an AC adapter. It's bulky like a regular cable modem or DSL modem.
It comes with a ten metre ethernet cable so it can be positioned for the highest quality reception.
Modems that plug into a USB port or PCIMA slot for notebook computers are available but wouldn't be the best solution for a desktop tower.
Bills, they never go away, it's another week of no money for me too.
Bills blow arse. And the wife finally got a new job, but at a significant pay cut, so we are going to likely have to make some tough decisions in the coming months...
=o(
Which body parts to sell, that kind of thing? [/tasteless, and probably hunger-inspired[/even more tasteless]]
Something like that...
