First we have ads, then popups, then those annoying adwords and popups when we hover over anything, now Sponsored Articles. What is a sponsored article, companies can pay Tom's to put ads about there products with their own opinions and content and no writer from Tom's will give their side of things.

This used to be a site for PC enthusiasts but much like CNET it is oging the way of the advertising Dodo.Too much advertising and not enough content for readers.

We've had sponsored articles for a long time. Years if I'm not mistaken. But they are clearly indicated as such, and still most definitely news. Sponsorship and advertising are, unfortunately necessary and needed to pay for the bandwidth necessary to run a site this size, as well as the reporters and staff.

If it the standard ads bother you greatly, you can always use Adblock plus, a very popular add-on for Firefox.
