Building Tips?

What are some tips for building a computer? I was thinking I would build it on a wooden table, with a wooden floor beneath it. I have an anti-static wrist band, and will do the touch the case to discharge static. What other things should I be aware of to not harm the computer, and what clothes are preferred? Should I wear shoes with rubber soles(think I heard this was a good thing to do)?

I build mine completely naked with my Stetson and Llamas on.. 8O
