I'm learning 3Ds MAX 2010 at school and need to get a computer of my own to run it on. I don't trust myself to build one on my own so I'm buying one. Right now I've narrowed it down to the Dell Studio Desktop PC and the Dell Precision T3500. But here is the catch, with the Precision I can only afford 4GB ram where as with the Studio I can get 8GB. But with the Precision I can get the Xeon quad processor which I think might be better than the quad I get with the Studio. Oh and I'm only using one monitor So to recap: for 3Ds MAX 2010 should I get... Dell Precision T3500 -Quad Core Intel Xeon E5506 2.13GHz, 4M L2, 4.8GT/s -RAM 4GB, 1066MHz,DDR3 SDRAM, EEC (2DIMMs) -512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 580, DUL MON, 2 DP & 1 DVI -20" monitor -No speakers or wireless internet $1500 or Dell Studio -Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q9650 (12MB L2, 3.00GHz, 1333FSB) -RAM 8GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz - 4DIMMs -1024MB NVIDIA GeForce GTS 240 -20" monitor -With speakers and wireless internet $1350 I'm also planning on running Maya 2010, Softimage 2010, and Mudbox 2010. Any help would be much appreciated.
