My computer is about 3-4 years old and I need a better CPU fan; the motherboard is a P4P800-VM with Pentium 4 Dual Core 2.8gHz. The Socket is 478. Please let me know the best possible CPU fan I can get for it; money is not an issue.

Ideally, I want a completely silent CPU fan or as close as I can get, that also does a great job at cooling the CPU. My current CPU fan is the original setup that came with the motherboard. Everything else in the case is newer than the motherboard at this point, though I do want the motherboard to last for a bit longer before I upgrade, and I'm tired of the hum from the computer. My power supply is plenty quiet for now, at least.

the Scythe Infinity is pretty quiet, a really good cooler as well, the scythe ninja is a little more quiet, but cooling wise it isnt as good as the infinity.

Well, if the fan+heatsink combo cools better than Intel's, that's all I care about. My primary concern is noise. ;)

I'll keep an eye out on the Stealth Ninja, although Zalman and Nexus seem like decent companies as well for CPU fans.

i have a socket 478 p4 3.4ghz and i had a problem with mine overheating... i got the Zalman and it impressed me. dropped over 40 degrees and it has a "slient mode. now, i will say, as great as it is, i had major problems installing it. barely enough room. but see for yourself. heres the link. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835118223
