I got the
XFX PVT71PUDP3 GeForce 7900GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 EXTREME Video Card for $155.00 after Mail-in-Rebate.

How does this card stack up to other 7900gs's, and did I get a good deal?

its very good


overclock it to maybe 560, and it will out perform the 7950gt in some/all games

Nice. Clock speeds are pretty close to card #28 in these charts, which performs closer to the 7950GT than to the reference 7900GS.

All XFX cards in the top 2-3 models for the category kick arse.

My last few high end cards have been XFX.

Not without the minor issue, same as others, but very good performance for the price.

Yes, that's exactly, and even a bit less, than what's this card is worth, so you have definitly got a good deal with it. At that price it's better than ATI's X1950Pro (200$), and about as fast. If I was into building a budget-mainstream computer and came across such a deal, I'd probably stick with it.
