pentium d 805 temps

i just got a 805 and noticed that that temps with the stock cooler is around 65 at a idle temp. is that normal?

At what speed does an Pentium D CPU equal that of a C2D... does 4 GHz = 2 GHz or or something close to that? Just seeing this guy with his OC'd 805 made me want to know that.

This question has been asked a million times and I don't hink anyone wants to answer you.

If you go back into old pages in forum, you will find a million post on this and also its on the tHG homepage.

Save you some time though, 65 is fine, but hardly close to normal. they can go to 75-90watts even. But the ideal would be high 30' low 50's idle.

Mine is just under 50 degrees at idle using the zalman cnps9500led at lowest rpm in silent mode.

Try reseating the heatsink.

What kind of airflow do you have in your case?

Mine idles at 19C and loads at 26C (DIY water loop)
