We all would love to put this to rest, the taliban are the ones that started the BS and now they have no control over the middle east and people start crying poor taliban, think of the 100s of thousands that have been killed before the war even started. the millions of familys affected before the war started.

There is only one way to a lasting peace in the middle east. Exterminate everyone. They are, have been, and always be bitter enemies who swap allegiances solely as a matter of convenience, not in search of peace

Jake, did you actually take the time to look at the history of NI and what went on before you came back at me with that one? You seem set on vengeance rather than attaining a lasting peace. If you fail to engage with these people and create an atmosphere in which dialogue can actually take place all you create is more hate and more violence.

It amuses me that somebody that will gladly defend the second amendment right of your country men to hold arms is so hell bent against allowing that for people of another nation. If somebody entered your country by force and started shooting at you what the fcuk would you be doing? Forget the rights and wrongs for just one second and think about human nature.

The British government had to swallow hard, people on both sides had to get over the natural instinct to keep blowing the crap out of each other. We had years of what was effectively civil war. We lost good men on both sides. It has only been through engaging with people and establishing a dialogue that we will attain any form of lasting peace.

I'm not saying either side is right or wrong. Frankly I think all parties are behaving with the intelligence of a 5yr old. But come on, we are supposed to be representing the greatest democracies on the planet. A system where we avoid internal conflict through dialogue rather than shooting. Let's just for once be the truly bigger nations.
