New sound card... opinions?

Newegg has some good rebates. Any opinions on these two? Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum and Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum.

A friend and computer geek has bought SoundBlaster X-Fi Platinum, and says its the best thing he ever did!

If you really need a good sound card, rather than use onboard sound, which mother boards are making better all the time, I don't see how you can go wrong with that one!
