I have an Aztech DSL 600EU which is a router/modem n i want to know whether running Zone Alarm is redundant?

Isn't a physical router by itself is more than enough to safeguard us?

There are times that Zone Alarm blocks the connection on the router, that's the reason why sometimes you can't access a particular application. But you can try running Zone Alarm and check the connection. If you there is no problem with the connection you can leave it enable always but if it blocks the connection then you may need to adjust the settings of the Zone Alarm.

Router will block incoming only, if NAT is active. Also have respond to ping off.

ZoneAlarm will block un-authorized outgoing if infected with adware/spyware or virus.

If you have ports open for gaming or other non secure connection, Keep ZoneAlarm Firewall.
