I used Catalysit control panel to adjust my card's performance. It's the X1950XT. So anyways, i let the program find the best clock speed for my computer. While it was testing the card, the temps were as high as 98 C..........

I was thinking about keeping the GPU fan speed at 100%..... but will that effect anything else besides Noise? I can careless about the noise because i will be having my head-phones on... but will it affect Power Supply or negatively affect speed in general?

How hot can these cards go without burning up?????

The only things that having the GPU fan at 100% will affect is noise and how cool your GPU will run. The noise you said you can deal with, so by all means go ahead!
As far as temps go, ive heard of x850XT's going up to 128 deg. C. Granted this is a different chip entirely, so your call.
If you can, set your overclocking utility to only apply the higher settings in games were you could use the extra raw power. This will help to extend the life of your chip.

That was my x850. 128C was just the highest ATI tool will report. I'm sure it went higher because when I unclogged the fan it ran at 100% for a while before it said anything lower than 128C. ATI cards can run pretty hot but at 98C I wouldn't run it there for an extended period of time.

Edit: I had to reflash the bios of that card after that. There was no real damage though. I even got the PE version from reflashing so it was all good.
