I have a Asus A8NSLi mobo and a BFG 7600gt pcie vid card,want to do sli ,can i use a diffrent brand 7600gt,ie xfx,evga

They're probably trying to make you buy a second BFG 7600GT instead of an eVga or XFX.

heyyou is right. you can mismatch gpu,s.
