[SOLVED] Defective kit lens?

Hello,
My 18-55 kit lens for the Canon T2i can't focus on the left-side. Regardless of which mode I'm working in: Close-up, center focus, AF, all points focused. I can't do a simple table-top with it. The dioptric setting is fine. Any suggestions? Do I have a bad lens?

Alvine, thank u. I have sent lens to Canon repair center. I shot some other shots with different lens and I'm convinced I have defective lens. Now, just have to see if I'll get new one from them.
