This is not a joke.

I use to get extremly emotionally attached to my computer, especially if it's new! Not only because I spend hell lot of time on it. It's not so easy to overcome because it overcomes me somtimes and it's awful.

I always have to remind myself that it's just a damn thing.

Anyone else PC sick?

Attached to a car: Yes; because of good memories to reflect on.
Attached to a home: See above.
Attached to a computer: No

I can understand being attached to a computer if you designed the hardware and wrote the software.

Fcuking tool. Getting attached to materialistic things.

I couldn't give a sh*t if someone stole my car. I have insurance to buy a new one. House burns down, I have insurance to buy a new one.. but it would be annoying as hell buying all the stuff back.
Computer dies, build a new one. Computer stolen? Insurance.

Get a life or go outside. Get attached to something else.. like a speedy semi.

That was the reaction I knew was getting...

I'm not asking you for a solution. I know exactly why It's this way for me.

i know how you feel, the joy it brings being your closest thing to a relationship, how through it's ability to let you view porn it almost allows you to think you know what sex is and also how it allows you to pwn noobs on teh internetz.

Riser for once is right, go outside.

I went to the 'varsity yesterday to have a word with my study leader, and while I was there I encountered the most stunning chemical engineer I have ever met. She's third year, bright, and if bodies were weapons, hers would be regulated by several international treaties.

I'll be meeting up with her in Cape Town on Friday evening. What we've agreed to so far is "a few beers, movie, dinner, let's see what happens".

Let's see what happens...

Back on topic... emotionally attached to PC? Well, I'm attacking mine with an anglegrinder and a dremel, plus some steel flatbar, perspex, 10mm ID tubing, 18mm ID tubing, a Golf 3 Cabriolet heater core, a CM Aquagate Viva radiator, a welding plant, 600l/h pond pump, some irrigation fittings, some matt black spraypaint, clear UV paint, UV dye, black acoustic carpet and a lot of copper, but emotionally? What a curious concept.

IT'S A FCUKING PC, YOU SAD SORRY LITTLE SOD! IT CRASHES! IT PLAYS GAMES! If you really know what you're doing, it overclocks. It's a random collection of electronic components, logic gates, TTL interfaces, some firmware, some bloatware, some input devices, and a highly inefficient and fault-prone unit of wetware interfaced to it.

It's not worth emotionally bonding to, because it doesn't have emotions, lucky damn thing.

Now then.

*bashes Rocky90 over the head with a GeForce 8800 Ultra, causing unconsciousness*

*stuffs the upgraded Rocky90 into a watercooled, overclocked Fatal1ty edition red&black llama suit*

*arranges into an alluring posture*

*sets up cameras, chairs and cooler*

Hey Pike, don't you think Riser has been excessively cranky the last few days?
I think we need to slip some happy pills into the Toledo water supply.
