I searched and could not find this answered.

I am building a Xeon 3050 based system. This is the first system I have built with a retail version of a chip that already has thermal paste applied. I have Artic Silver 5, will I notice much of a difference between the two?

I am guessing the Artic Silver 5 would be better. But will it be noticeable differnece?

I would'nt use the stock HS pad now, even though it is OK thermally.

AS5 allows easier HSF removal(original pad realy sticks like glue) and I have had CPU's run cooler up to 4'C.

I was expecting a PAD but it really looked like paste. I did not inspect very closely though.

I have used AS5 previously and I can attest to it's stickiness even when applying a very thin layer.
