I know that this is not a software group but it's the closest I could
find doing a search of webcams. So just point me in the right direction
if no one has an opinion.
I bought two cheap webcams over the weekend that was on sale (Labtech).
One for my daughters computer, the other for her friend supposedly to do
homework together but I'm sure that they will most likely being acting
silly on it.
I'm not real computer smart but got the one here hooked up with no
problem. My question is which service to use to get online, which would
be the easiest for me to install and my daughter to use. The ones I've
seen are Yahoo, Netmeeting and Windows messenger.
Thanks

there's such easy access to inappropriate video and chat servers you're
going to need to supervise a little and have some rules regardless of which
platform you choose.

I'm more than happy with MSN Messenger which requires either a Hotmail email
account or MSN email and then its a direct IP to IP video chat without
necessarily using their chat rooms.... it fairly simple & and it natively
ties directly into Netmeeting too with IP to IP to avoid their servers
also and all that bad stuff that goes with group chat servers.

Thanks, I will keep this in mind. I guess I need to do a little more
reading on the subject. We did get Yahoo installed but not real happy
with it because we can't get it to work in the "super" mode even though
we both have high-speed cable and have disabled the firewall.
I don't think we're using their chat rooms. I went online with Yahoo and
had to invite her friend to join us. I think for anyone else to see them
don't they have to request permission to join the room?
I will look at MSN but not sure that I have enough sense to the IP
thing.
Thanks again

Thanks I will check it out. We're not having much luck with Yahoo
Messenger. I can't get it to run in the super mode.

I think you would have to connect your computer directly to the
internet (aka no router) to get super mode.
