Ya but it beats the hell out of paying the usual full price.I should know,I bought a S-939 4400+X2 and it cost me 600 dollars.Three months later, that same processor dropped in price by like 50%.A good ploy on AMD's part to get people to buy their product.Don't get me wrong here cause I like performance, but I live in a smaller community now and I believe in supporting small business. As far as processors go,AMD is the small guy next to INTEL.Hence the reason I support AMD and I always recommend them to my clients.Good shopping and MERRY X-MAS to all.

OHHH. No wonder Why most 1st World
Countries haven't seen the X2 3600 around i think it's because they were only meant to be sold in Developing and Slightly Developed countries. I have searched and have yet to find a X2 3600 In Toronto, But my friend here in the Philippines has them in stock and they are CHEAP!!

Short of them almost giving them away I can't see buying any. The Core 2 simply out classes them. This from an AMD guy going way back. I'd have to be desperate to go AMD right now.

Yes, if you built a AMD setup now, you'd start thinking maybe - I should have built a C2D

Its not that bad to build an AMD.. I setup AMD x2 PCs for my cousins who are on a budget.I dont get complaints from them...

I use C2D.. Im lucky..I just happen to have enough resources for me to have a C2D..but if I didn't had one.. I could have built myself an AMD..its still a pretty smart choice

Yes, nothing wrong with AMD, it's just that the C2D's are faster for the same and less $$.

I mean in real terms, even a single core AM2 64 3800+ is a fast CPU.

Talking about the SC 3800+ CPU, there've dropped 8O in price again. A few months ago in Aus they were $187, - Now $145 :)

Still good value and will run most games easily when paired with a good graphic card.
