I have an Asus M2N-SLI DX mobo and I've connected the chassis' front USB wire to one of the three USB slots, but it doesn't work. There are 4 USB ports at the back built into the mobo and they work, but the front one doesn't work.
The back USB connections are built onto the mobo, so there are no plugs. And the plugs from the front of the chassis are one of th ose 9/10 plus, so orientation can't be wrong.
This is a common problem for motherboard header USB ports.
The way I resolved it was to download USB 2.0 drivers and install them even though I have Windows XP SP-2.
Sometimes rebooting the computer with a USB drive/device works, but not always.
