Need help on overclocking.

Hello everyone,
A strange thing happened to me when I tried to overclock my cpu. I increased the frequency multiplier from 11 to 12.5 but nothing changed however it should be around 2GHz (12.5x166=2075). Without overclocking I had 1833 Mhz and now I have 1.84 GHz so not much changed. By the way it's a sempron 2600+ @1.83 Ghz.

Uh, multipliers can only be changed on a few high-end CPUs(Core 2 Extreme, Athlon FX). You may have mistakenly thought that you changed your multiplier. When overclocking with normal CPUs you change only the FSB, not the multiplier. As for it showing as 1.84GHz, they occasionally fluctuate slightly if I recall correctly(Well it does with mine...).

So how do I make my proccessor faster without buying a new one and wrecking the current cpu. I have asus a7n8x-e deluxe with phoenix bios, I have a stock cooler.
