Can someone point me in the right direction. I want to connect my pc to my lcdtv. While gaming is nice for me its really more important that I just be able to use the lcd as a monitor. The tv has s-video(4-pin), Component, Composite, and Hdmi inputs. The pc has none of these onboard connectors. I looked at dozens of cards like the ATI Radeon All-in-Wonder 9800 PRO and I'm getting confused. I do burn a lot of dvds on the pc and the prospect of using as a pvr is cool but not essential. I'm looking for a simple solution to use my pc apps, and surf the net using my lcdtv as the monitor.

Thanks

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but last time I check, majority of the the video cards that have S-Video out come with a component adapter. Other than that, I find it weird that an LCD TV not have an VGA connector. I just ordered a LCD TV from Costco the other day that has: HDMI, Component, S-Video, Composite, and VGA connectors. It's a 32 inch widescreen. One thing to make note is, with LCD TVs, they have a specific resolution. Might want to double check the video card to make sure it can output that resolution. Most high ends won't have a problem.

Like I said, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for your reply. I agree I thought there was a VGA connector on the lcd as well. Can you recommend a specific card or two that I should look at? I'm a girl who doesn't know much about electronics and computers other then from work.

Thanks

You can buy a DVI-HDMI converter. I'd suggest using that.

If in the states.

You lost me neither the pc nor the tv has DVI? The LCD has everything but DVI and VGA.

personally, i've noticed that you have a better picture quality using S-video (4 pin), composite isn't such a good picture.
I use it with my CRT TV, so resolution is not good enough to read text easily
so surfing will be difficult
i think this is different on LCD?
fill me in on this

Most of your nVidia 7 series and ATI X1xxx series will do the job.
