I had 1GB kit of corsair xms2 pro series (nice headlights on them) of ddr2-533 memory. I bought a 2GB kit of ddr2-675 because the 533 corsairs arent on newegg and zipzoomfly has it backordered. I put the ram in with my existing ram and them cause my system to be unstable. Ive heard that tweaking the bios by setting the ram manually at 533 would fix the issue. Anyway should I just leave the 2GB kit of ddr2-675 memory in (by itself) or include the ddr2-533 memory to up my ram to 3GB? Or should I just buy another kit of ddr2-675 to up my total to 4GB? Any performance boost for any?

My system is only a gaming machine. Right now I left my ddr2-533 ram out. Is it worth the trouble to include this ram or I have better performance with the ddr2-675 ram.

If youre using a 32bit system then youll only get 3 gigs detected/working .If youre using a 64bit system youll get the 4 gigs working.Having not seen your setup,I dont know.Mixing and matching should work with the slowest ram working at that speed and the faster downclocking to the slower ram,tho some ram Ive heard doesnt like to downclock all that well.Id work with your bios if you have to have that 3 gigs, tho 2 gigs should be fine

Hi. Im running a 32-bit system. Is their a performance boost from me switching to ddr2-675 from ddr2-533? I heard that why should I put all sticks in and get 533 speed when I should just leave the higher speed in. Was just curious if its worth it to downclock the speed to 533.
