I just purchased a new 19" LCD monitor from Samsung last night. It's the first LCD screen I've used and I'm enjoying it thus far, except for one weird issue. On the top left corner of the screen, the image looks... how should I say this... pixelated? Very slightly, but it's there. I don't believe it's the "screen door" effect that I've heard about, because it's only apparent on the left side of the screen (particularly the top left as I mentioned). I can see it right now just over the website name on the top bar of my browser. When I move the window to the center or right side of the screen, the effect seems to dissapear. Does anyone know what this might be? Should I return the screen? It's not too terribly jarring, but I do notice it.
Actually, I just read a user describe his "screen door" effect as "..had what they call a "screendoor effect", which doesn't bother some people, but it bothered me. It's like looking through a screen at the panel, and when your eyes move you get a little shimmer.".. which is exactly the same thing with my monitor (at least the shimmer thing). I'm a little confused as to why it would only be on one side, though.
