New X1900GT's?

I have recently discovered that the new X1900GT's are clocked slower than when they first came out. They used to be 575mhz (like the bench in Toms VGA charts) but are now 512. I have heard that this is because of a heat issue, but thats not my question. My question is, how much does this affect performance? Does anyone know of any benchmarks? I am trying to decide what video card to get and would like some real benchmarks to compare.

Wrong, they simply ran out of R580 cores

but thats not my question. My question is, how much does this affect performance? Does anyone know of any benchmarks?
