AMD 6.12 Catalyst drivers & x1950xt

Can anyone with an XT second this?? I want to buy my little brother a 1950XT for x-mas, and this is the only issue holding me back.

I have a Sapphire 1950xt too, and still have nothing but trouble (it's only 1 week old)

I did a fresh install of xp pro and ATI setup still locks up my system, if i try to install from safe mode I get the massage it cant find any compatable ATI card. I used driver cleaner Pro to remove the old drivers but it didn't help. The drivers work if I manually install them from the control pannel. but the setup prog's won't work at all. Halflife 2 and UT2004 work perfectly with no trouble whatsoever. ATITool and 3dmark 2006 usually lock up my system.

If anyone has any Ideas what may be causing the problem please let me know. heres the config. With a fresh install last week of XP PRO. and ALL the latest drivers

MB asus m2n32-sli deluxe WIFI socket AM2 (newest bios)
proc x2 6400
2 gig of corsair xms2 mem
2 seagate 320 sata hd's
2 pioneer 16x dvd burners

I'm starting to thing this may be a hardware problem but it doesn't make sense because the games play soo good. anyone have any ideas?

I also have the sapphire 1950XT, and the 6.12 drivers work flawlessly with this card. With the old 6.11 drivers, it never recognized the card.
