Hello!
I want to copy a file from ROM (\windows\citydb.dll) on a iPAQ 6340 to SD
card or the PC.
Anybody knowing a way how to copy a file from ROM to another location? I
tried several tools, but always fail.

afaik, ROM based files cannot be copied. Some files in this directory
are actually in ram and can be copied.
If you are still interested in experimenting, the best place to start is
by using the pc's file explorer while connected via activesync... using
this method, it is posible to "overwrite" rom based files... tip,
experiment with non essential files such as pocketbitmaps.

Thank you for answer!
I do not want to "overwrite" rom based files, but I want to retrieve the
citydb.dll to investigate in its DLL entries (exports/imports), because I
want to use it for timezone setting together with a eVC program.
Regards
Peter

>> citydb <<
Think the info you need is in the registry... if not, you should be able
to set each city, then retreive the current timezone for each from the
registry.
