I've upgraded my machine to a 2.8 ghz processor with XP installed & now in
half the software I use the scroll wheel doesn't work, Notepad, wordpad,
Works4, MYOB, Easypc. It works fine in Explorer & Express. It worked fine
before under Win98 on my old m/c. What have I done wrong (or is Bill telling
me I must upgrade all my old software)

Have you checked the software for your mouse to see if any adjustments
need to be done there.

Hi

Have you updated the mouse drivers to the latest XP compliant ones?

And have you downloaded and installed the latest driver for your mouse?
Either IntelliMouse for MS mice or Mouseware for Logitech (YMMV if you're
using a different brand).

Sometimes you have to left click within the application window to gain
focus before the scroll wheel will respond. Have you tried that? Example:
Windows Explorer in 2 pane view - the side that will respond to the scroll
is the side that you clicked on.

downloaded latest version of Logitec s/ware for optical mouse & installed it.
Checked all adjustments I can find in setup. Scroll wheel wont do anything in
most of the s/ware I use regularly ( MYOB, Wordpad, Works4) All worked fine
under Win98.
