4 times now when i visit this site a virus gets installed on my computer. Had to use Malwayre Bytes to remove it on 3 separate occasions. Also switched from McAfee to Microsoft Essentials, which was a good move because ME stopped it from downloading while McAffe apparently had been failing. Anyway, it must be when i click on the link to the site on google more than once and inadvertantly hit an ad or something... but 4 times now Vista Security 2011 has tried to install on my computer... this is the only site i visit where i have issues like this....

Next time it happens, please take a screenshot of the page so we can see what ads are displaying. It will make it easier to track down the cause.

When you say "this site" do you mean Tom's? It's extremely unlikely this site would cause that sort of problem.

When it happens again, go to Internet Explorer's Tools menu then Internet Optoins>Security>Restricted Sites and add the site to that list. Then, go into Safe Mode with Networking by restarting and tapping Function 8 to see the Advanced Boot menu. Update MalwareBytes and run the Full Scan - it is far more effective in Safe Mode and should find and delete the threat once and for all time.

Malwarebytes recommends after safemode update/scan, to also scan in normal mode. so I don't think it is More Effective in Safe Mode. It is more effective when the "varmit" is running, ie, normal mode.

Is your java updated? If not, update it. Typically, you can get malware through an older version of java without the proper security patches and such.
