I saw an ad in my gaming magazine for the new Alienware high-end system that has a quad-core CPU and DUAL 8800's. Why? One will outperform dual 7950's! It's just crazy!!

For the money burning pocket enthusiasts?

And if nVidia is doing what they did last time with the 7 series, then I'd expect the 8900 to be around the corner and be called the king for nVidia.

*yawns... waits for ATI to release DX10 gfx card*

Braggin right.

To get money from the ones willing to spend it.

And also,
best performance you can get. Seems kinda pointless since you'll get like 500fps in games, and won't notice a difference between 500 and 70

If I wanted bragging rights, I'd go to Voodoo or Falcon Northwest and get the same exact stuff. Alienware is overrated these days......like Dell for example :D

WEll, if you're a super high resolution junkie, you can certainly benefit from 8800's in SLI. SLI also seems to work a whole lot better than previous models (in terms of performance gains).

Bah i hate when people talk to me about alienware...
I tell them its way overpriced and with only a little experience they could build their own much much cheaper :p
